Saturday, November 7 - Academic Conference on the Asia Minor Catastrophe Westin Hotel, 6100 River Road, Rosemont, IL. from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
Presenters include: Taner Akcam, Constantine Hatzidimitriou, Sgeorge Shirinian, Matthias Bjornlund, Alexander Kitroeff and Dr. Van Coufoudakis. Click here for registration form.

Donations $100 with a grand prize of $1500. Every 10th ticket chosen wins $50.
Saturday, May 23 -- Public lecture by Dr. Constantine Hatzidimitriou, Duke Realty Corp. Auditorium at 5:00PM, entitled American Accounts Documenting the Destruction of Smyrna.

Sunday, May 17 -- Day of Remembrance Memorial Service, Saints Constantine and Helen, 11025-45 S Roberts Rd., Palos Hills, IL during church service.
Refreshments will be served after church service. May 19 has been officially recognized as the Day of Remembrance for the 353,000 Pontian Greek Orthodox Christians who lost their lives at the hands of the Turks during the period of 1914-1923.This year we commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Pontian Greek Genocide.

Hosted by The United Hellenic American Congress, the Federation of Hellenic American Organizations "ENOSIS", the Pan-Pontian Federation of USA and Canada, and the Pontian Greek Society of Chicago.
The conference objective is to discuss the systematic preservation, study, and dissemination of information about the history and fate of the Pontian Greeks and Greeks of Asia Minor. Guest presenters are scholars in Pontian Greek and Asia Minor history and will share their experiences with establishing research libraries and university chairs. Registration is required. May 25 -- Lecture by Professor Theofanis Malkidis, Cretan Center, 5941, N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, Illinois at 7:00 PM.
Professor Malkidis will address the historical account of Greek civilization in Pontus and the Pontian Greek Genocide. He will stress the importance of recognizing the Pontian Greek Genocide not only within the Greek community but throughout the world.
Sunday, May 20 -- Day of Remembrance Memorial Service, Holy Cross Church in Justice, Illinois.
May 19 has been officially recognized as the Day of Remembrance for the 353,000 Pontian Greek Orthodox Christians who lost their lives at the hands of the Turks during the period of 1914-1923.
